MINIMALISM.

THIRSTING FOR FUN, NOT FOR FUEL.

Doesn't spare the horses: The MINI Cooper D offers unbridled driving fun while keeping its CO2 emissions in check. With just 99 g/km, it always keeps its nose in front.

As a member of the MINIMALISM fleet, the MINI Cooper D is packed to the brim with energy-saving technologies. On the road, it has the lowest CO2 emissions of its class – and an ideal outlook for the future.

AUTO START STOP FUNCTION.

The Auto Start Stop function switches off the engine automatically when you take your foot off the clutch (e.g. at traffic lights). This saves energy – for car and driver alike.

MINIMAL.

OPTIMAL.

High fun factor, low consumption − ground-breaking technologies make it possible. Your bonus: the sum of many small economy measures.

SHIFT POINT DISPLAY.

Correct gear shifts = fuel economies. Thanks to the electronic shift point display on the rev counter gauge. According to the speed, the MINI determines the most economical gear and shows the driver whether to shift up or down through the gears. This avoids excessive fuel consumption and reduces engine wear.

BRAKE ENERGY REGENERATION.

Energy is produced during braking. Part of this braking energy is converted to electricity by means of intelligent generator control. This takes place via the alternator. It is activated during thrust or braking phases and produces electricity to charge the battery. Releasing the accelerator pedal intensifies battery charging, while acceleration involves a reduced level of charging. The energy reclaimed can thus be reused.

ALUMINIUM COMPONENTS.

The MINI owes its agility to the use of especially lightweight components. Aluminium is an ideal material for several chassis components, such as the trailing arms on the rear axle. It means optimum driving characteristics plus more power with reduced consumption. The lighter the components, the more power remains for the road. Sporty, economical, MINIMALISM.

LIGHTWEIGHT CHASSIS.

All from the same mould – it’s time to cast this idea aside. A modern lightweight chassis works with different materials in a variety of situations. That saves weight and therefore fuel as well. Yet intelligent use of rigid and elastic materials also improves driving characteristics. The result is excellent roadholding, maximum driving safety − and, of course, a maximum fun factor.

UNDERBODY.

MINI has rethought all its components from top to bottom. Let’s take the underbody of the MINI One MINIMALIST as an example: it keeps drag low while at the same time increasing downforce. As a result, significantly less power is required and fuel consumption is reduced.

THE PRINCIPLE.

TAKING A CLEAR LINE.

The MINIMALISM fleet is characterised by low fuel consumption. To achieve this, MINI has taken all aspects of driving and optimised them wherever possible. So drivers are happy (less refuelling) and the environment's happy (less emissions).

A touch more awareness – and even minor technical improvements can produce major effects. For maximum performance – with minimum consumption.
